The Ghana League Clubs Association will set up a committee to decide the format for their flagship pre-season tournament.

This was one of the fall-outs from the Association's Annual General Assembly held on Thursday, 23 November, 2017

GHALCA started with the Top 4 Tournament which was to prepare the country's quartet for CAF's inter-clubs competitions.

Past leaders later modified the tournament to six clubs which was christened G6.

This year, the tournament will involve eight teams and dubbed G8.

However, it has been modified to for the best four finishers of the Premier League, has seen inconsistencies in its arrangement in recent years.

The tournament, which was changed from Top Tour to G6 last year, has now been changed again this year to G8.

''We talked about the G6 and it has been accepted, but members felt that there is a need for us to have a clear-cut pre-season competition,'' GHALCA chairman Kudjoe Fianoo said.

''It shouldn’t be Top Four today and G8 another time. So in the next couple of days we would be setting up a committee to look at that aspect.''
