GHALCA to lift sanctions on Kotoko

Published on: 23 July 2011

Asante Kotoko and the Ghana League Clubs Association have reached an agreement aimed at settling the impasse between the two.

The club were handed a one-year ban from all GHALCA activities and fined 10,000 Ghana cedis for boycotting the medal and trophy presentation of this year's President's Cup.

In Memorandum of Understanding signed on 19 July reveals Kotoko render an unqualified apology to the association, sponsors of the President's Cup and the general public.

Kotoko will also forfeit the silver medals and 2,500 Ghana cedis.

The Kumasi-based side will avail itself to the Disciplinary Committee of the Ghana FA to respond to charges preferred against it.

Kotoko return to the Accra Sports Stadium again on Sunday for the final of this year's MTN FA Cup against Division One side Nania FC.
