Ghana ace Agyemang Badu claims 80% of football's agent are fake

Ghana midfielder Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu claims 80% of football’s middle-men are not genuine.

The Udinese ace says many of the so-called FIFA intermediaries are fake and only exploit the innocence of many players.

The former Asante Kotoko star blames his botched move to English giants Liverpool on these ‘con’men and warns footballers to be wary.

”As for the agents more than 80 percent of them are fake. You know me I speak my mind. Once I was approached by an agent who said oh I have a club for you in England; can you give me a mandate? And you know because in England you need a mandate before you negotiate on behalf of any player, I had to give him,” he told Accra-based Kasapa FM.

“That was during the time when Liverpool had expressed interest. The deal went bad because it turned out that he went in there to mess it up. So I have grown wiser now.”

He added: “My current agent is examining a number of deals. We speak every day and he tells me he receives about 300 phone calls. So let’s see what will come out of it. But in the meantime, I am committed to Udinese. I had a good season last year and would want to continue that form.”
