Ghana winger Andre Ayew has admitted Chelsea was a difficult opposition to face in his English Premier League debut but feels lucky to have scored against the league title-holders.

Brazilian Oscar scored from a free-kick to put the Blues ahead in the 23rd minute before Andre Ayew stabbed a close-range equaliser after keeper Courtois had kept out Bafetimbi Gomis's header.

The 25-year-old, who joined the Swans as a free agent after leaving French giants Olympique Marseille,  was playing his debut game in the English Premier League and he inspired the Welsh side an impressive showing at the Stamford Bridge against Jose Mourinho's Chelsea.

Andre reckons the game was tough but he was lucky to have scored against the champions who went ahead twice in the game.

"It wasn't easy for me because the game was really a tough one. I'm lucky enough to have gotten a goal," he said in the post-match interview.

"We played well and they also did. Their first goal was a free-kick and the other was an own-goal but we got back," he added.

Andre was among three Ghanaian players who played in the 2015/16 Premier League opening day on Saturday afternoon.
