AC Milanà midfielderà Michael Essienà believes the Diavoloââ¬â¢s glory days will return after their struggles during the 2013-14à Serie Aà campaign.
The Rossoneri finished their season in eighth place in the league standings, which has seen them miss out on European qualification for the first time in over a decade, but the 31-year-old is confident that the Milan side will stage a comeback next term.
Essien, who joined the Italian side fromà Chelseaà in January, spoke to the officialà FIFAwebsite about his experience at Milan thus far, while also commenting on his hopes to find success withà Ghanaà during this summerââ¬â¢sà World Cup.
ââ¬ÅIââ¬â¢m doing fine at Milan,â⬠said the Ghanaian international. ââ¬ÅIââ¬â¢ve settled in quickly and everyone has been nice and helpful.
ââ¬ÅI canââ¬â¢t complain about the experience Iââ¬â¢ve had here and I have no doubt that the glory days of AC Milan will be back soon.
ââ¬ÅWorld Cup? This is the best Ghana team ever. We have many options in every department, especially in the midfield, and we can try to repeat the journey we made in the last World Cup.
ââ¬ÅThe first objective is to pass the group stage and then anything can happen, we can even reach the semi-finals or the final.ââ¬
