Striker Asamoah Gyan's return to training has boosted the confidence of Ghana's players for the Africa Cup of Nations.

The Al Ain ace, who is undergoing horse placenta treatment to cure a hamstring injury, trained with his teammates for the first time on Saturday.

He is expected to play in Wednesday warm-up match against Platinum Stars.

Gyan's return is a boost for Ghana's campaign at the Nations Cup.

"Asamoah Gyan is a very good player. He is central to the Ghana strike force and for most footballers injuries can be very problematic so we are happy for him and happy that he is looking fit," defender Daniel Opare said.

"I was happy to see him back and so were a lot of the players when he came out today."

Gyan has been worked on by Serbian healer Mariajna Kovacevic.

The 25-year-old should be available for the Black Stars opener against Botswana on 24 January.
