Ghana-born Dutch international George Boateng was a pundit for a Malaysian television during Tuesdayââ¬â¢s Champions League clash between Manchester United and Bayern Munich.
The 38-year-old was a guest pundit on Astro SuperSport analyzing the 1-1 draw between the two sides at Old Trafford.
The former Hull City who was born in Ghana, grew up in the Netherlands and now lives in Surrey, south of London.
His wife Adriana originally hails from Colombia â⬓ and heââ¬â¢s also played in Greece and completed his coaching badges in Ireland.
, Boateng has semi-retired in his looking at moving into management. Recently he spent a couple of weeks with his former Middlesbrough boss Steve McLaren, now in charge of Championship club, Derby County.
Boateng has also previously declared his interest in being part of the coaching staff of another of his previous clubs, Aston Villa.
As a youngster, Boateng followed his father from Ghana to the Netherlands where he did most of his schooling.
He came through the tough Dutch football system after being scouted by Dutch giants Feyenoord as a 15 year old.
He played 68 league games with the Rotterdam club and appeared in the European Cup before making ã220,000 move to Premier League side, Coventry City in 1998 where he was managed by former Manchester United favourite Gordon Strachan.
But the happiest memories of Boatengââ¬â¢s English career came at his next two clubs, Aston Villa and Middlebrough.
At Villa, he played in the 2000 FA Cup final (also against Chelsea) while at Boro he won the 2004 League Cup and played in the 2006 UEFA Cup final as Steve McLarenââ¬â¢s feats on Teesside helped earn him the England coaching job.
