Ghana will no longer engage Botswana in an international friendly after both teams were drawn in the same group for the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations.

The Zebras were an option being discussed by the Ghana FA alongside Mexico and Honduras as possible opponents for next month’s Fifa friendly dates.

But any hope for the realization of this friendly was dashed after both teams were drawn against each other in Group D of the Nations Cup which will be jointly hosted by Gabon and Equatorial Guinea.

Botswana who qualified to the finals ahead of any other nation will be making their first ever appearance at the CAN and would open their group account against the Black Stars.

Mali and Guinea completes the group which will be based in the Gabonese city of Franceville.
