Ghana brush aside Lesotho in 2014 World Cup qualifier

Strikers Dominic Adiyiah and Jordan Ayew grabbed a brace each as Ghana thrashed Lesotho 7-0 in the opening 2014 World Cup qualifier on Friday. 

The two men were the star of the show at the Baba Yara stadium as they found their scoring boots when it mattered most.

The Black Stars dominated possession from start to finish as the Basothans chased shadows on the pitch.

Stand-in-captain Sulley Muntari scored a trademark piledriver from 15 yards as he curled the ball beautifully into the net to beat goalkeeper Phasumane Kholoue.

Defender Jerry Akaminko sealed victory for the Black Stars with a fine header after the goalkeeper failed to collect and aerial ball.

The victory will be a massive morale booster ahead of next week’s crucial game against African Champions Zambia at the Levy Mwanasana stadium.
