Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan has scoffed at suggestions that his frequent injuries were caused by a hex placed on him.

The on-loan Al Ahli striker has been battling minor injuries since moving to Shanghai SIPG two years ago.

His physical frailties denied him the opportunity to prove his mettle in the Chinese Super League.

Some have suggested Gyan's troubles are caused by witchcraft from someone he has offenced.

''A lot of things run through head but the last thing I think about is a hex placed on me by somebody. I am too strong for that. Nobody can do anything to me,'' Gyan told Accra-based Hot FM.

''That person should think of using the witchcraft to help him/her family.''
