Ghana striker Asamoah Gyan signed and presented the Protect the Goal ball to Malawi President Peter Mutharika at a ceremony held at the Sanjika Palace.
The symbolic presentation marked the passing of the baton for the continued awareness campaign to stem out HIV/AIDS from Africa.
Gyan has been in Malawi since Wednesday to perform several activities as part of the Protect the Goal campaign on the invitation of UNAIDS.
He had earlier visited and performed a circumcision which is considered an important feature towards reducing the risks of contracting sexually transmitted diseases including HIV/AIDS.
President Mutharika revealed how big a fan he is of the Black Stars captain to prompt the presentation of an autographed Al Ain jersey from the 28-year-old.
The ex Sunderland hitman interacted with high ranking officials of the Malawi government during the Presidential ball.
Ideas were shared over how to further enhance the Protect the Goal campaign and how the Ghana striker could use his star status to push the awareness campaign.
