Ghana will be without captain Asamoah Gyan for Saturday's friendly against Guinea and next week's clash with Mauritius because of injury.

The China-based attacker suffered a thigh injury while playing for Shanghai SIPG in a league match in the Chinese top-flight last week.

The Black Stars will face Guinea in an international friendly in Paris on Saturday before travelling to Mauritius for next week's Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.

Gyan was expected to lead the Black Stars for the two matches from Saturday but he says the injury has forced him out of the games.

"So far am injured, and I think am out of the team so I will wish the players luck so that they make Ghana proud,” Gyan said.

The Black Stars will seal their place at the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations if they secure a draw in the match in Port Louis.
