Maxwell Konadu has hailed the Black Stars for their heroic efforts in qualifying Ghana to the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations with a win over Togo on Wednesday.
Goals from Majeed Waris, Mubarak Wakasi and an own goal saw Ghana clinched a 3-1 win over the visiting Hawks at the Tamale Sports Stadium.
The win sees Ghana clinch automatic qualification to next yearââ¬â¢s AFCON finals to be staged in Equatorial Guinea.
The Black Stars needed the win not only to seal qualification, but also to appease the Ghanaians fans who remain depressed over the teamââ¬â¢s recent dip in form.
Interim coach Maxwell Konadu congratulated his team for the good work done in securing qualification for the nation.
ââ¬ÅIt was a very difficult match [against Togo], our opponents also came to win â⬓ they played very well in my opinion,â⬠he said after the game.
ââ¬ÅOur boys did extremely well. They played to instructions and scored three goals.
ââ¬ÅSo in a nut shell I must say it has been a difficult week â⬓ losing far away in Uganda, the pressure was on us to at least win this one and get Ghana to the next AFCON.
ââ¬ÅIt want easy but the boys took us through and I want to thank them for their performance today.ââ¬
Ghana will be making its 20thà appearance at the Africa Cup of Nations when next yearââ¬â¢s edition kicks off in Equatorial Guinea.
