Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah will travel to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Tuesday (today) to monitor his captain Asamoah Gyan and discuss their plans for the 2014 World Cup, GHANAsoccernet.com can exclusively reveal.

Appiah, who spent the whole of last month in South Africa monitoring players at the Africa Nations Championship (CHAN), will continue his work with with the visit to Al Ain.

Appiah will watch one match of his captain and is expected to discuss the Black Stars plans for the World Cup with his skipper.

He is expected to spend three days in Al Ain watching Gyan train with his club too as he figures out the plan of deploying his deadliest arsenal for the tournament in Brazil in June.

Appiah is monitoring his players as he follows through his plan of reserving seats on the flight to Brazil for only the best players.

The Black Stars coach before the World Cup draw stated clearly only the best players will be assembled to represent the country.

“We want the best players and only the best players will be going to Brazil to represent the nation,” Appiah said in a recent interview.

“My greatest concern is to have all my players available and without any injuries. I pray for that. I hope we arrive in Brazil with a solid unit and we will take it from there.”

Ghana are drawn against Germany in Group G alongside Portugal and the United States in the first round of next year’s World Cup.
