Black Stars coach Avram Grant has hailed the versatility of young defender Daniel Amartey.

The Israeli gaffer has been impressed with the quality of the FC Copenhagen man since he made his debut during the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations.

Amartey was used as make-shift right-back during the country’s 2017 opening Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Mauritius and the former Chelsea coach has lauded his addition in the team.

“Daniel Amartey is of great quality, Ghanaians are so lucky to have such a player. It is not usual to see versatile youngsters like him especially in African football” Grant told the Press

“He can play in central defense, as a right back and also as a defensive midfielder and he does so well in all those positions”

“I watched him against Torino in the Europa league and he scored as a defensive midfielder. He has also featured as centre back and as a right full back for his club”

“The Ghana team is a great team. We have so many budding talents like Daniel Amartey, they can play in any position you assign them and that is good for team building”.”
