Ghana coach Avram Grant has named a vibrant squad to face Senegal and Mali next week in France with Tunisia-based Seidu Salifu the only newcomer in the list of 22 players.

But captain Asamoah Gyan has been excluded after failing to recover from an infection which sidelined him for last Wednesday’s Asian Champions League Group match for Al Ain.

In his absence, FC Sion youngster Ebenezer Assifuah has replaced him for the double assignments.

Salifu, who plays Tunisian Ligue 1 leaders Club Africain, has been consistent for the Reds this term.

He has made 18 league appearances and scored one goal.

Majority of the players are from the squad which won silver at the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations in Equatorial Guinea.

Making a return to the club is Leicester City versatile defender Jeffrey Schlupp who was accused of feigning injury to miss tournament.

Goalkeeper Fatau Dauda is the only home-based player to have made the cut.

The Black Stars will play their first match against Senegal on 28 March before taking on Mali three days later.

Ghana squad:
