Ghana coach Avram Grant has distanced himself from Jordan Ayew-Afriyie Acquah saga which has been trending in the country, describing it as a private matter which has no place in football.

Amanda, the wife of the Torino midfielder, claimed she bedded the Aston Villa striker for four years before her marriage.

She added that her husband Acquah is not on talking terms with Jordan because of their marriage – revelation which could prove damaging for the national team.

But Grant included the duo in his 24-man squad to play Congo in a friendly and then against Rwanda in Kigali in a 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier early next month.

“This is purely a private matter and it has no place in football,” Avram told Joy FM.
