Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah has spoken to midfielder Mubarak Wakaso to console him on the death of his son Mubarak Jnr.

The Black Stars boss spoke to the Russia-based midfielder last week when his four-month old baby boy died in Tamale while on holidays.

Appiah spoke to the midfielder to assure him of the support of the Black Stars technical team and players during this difficult period.

"I can't imagine the terrible loss you must feel at the death of your son Mubarak Jnr," Kwesi Appiah told the Russia-based midfielder and his wife.

"I hope you will feel somewhat comforted in knowing that you couldn't have been more caring and supporting parents.

"His life was a blessing to all of us who had the privilege to know him.

"On behalf of the Technical Team of the Black Stars and the playing body, we offer our deepest sympathy and open arms during this painful period."
