Ghana coach drops Kevin Boateng for Swazi Brazil game - Kwarasey, Adomah in

Published on: 22 August 2011

Ghana coach Goran Stevanovic has named a familiar 21-man squad without Kevin-Prince Boateng for next month's double header against Swaziland and Brazil, GHANAsoccernet.com can confirm.

The AC Milan ace is paying the price for disciplinary problems with the Black Stars as he looks keen only on high-profile matches.

Coach Goran Stevanovic named Bristol City winger Albert Adomah and goalkeeper Adam Kwarasey for their likely debuts with the team.

GHANAsoccernet.com understands that Marseille youngster Jordan Ayew could be the 22nd player in the team as his place was being considered when we chanced on the list.

Ayew could be in line for a recall 12 months after playing for the Black Stars in Nations Cup qualifier against Sudan at the Baba Yara Stadium.

The huge talking points remains on Kevin Boateng who has played two out of seven international matches since their 2010 World Cup quarter-finalists appearance.

The Serbian coach Goran Stevanovic has been unhappy with the way the AC Milan ace has treated Ghana national team call-ups.

Boateng's decision to snub key matches against Congo in Brazzaville and the friendly against South Korea has not gone down well with the coach.

Attempts to reach the player to talk over his attitude failed which has resulted in the decision to axe Boateng and instill discipline in the team.

Stevanovic has retained majority of the players invited for this month's botched friendly against Nigeria.

Bristol City winger Albert Adomah and goalkeeper Adam Kwarasey were expected to be handed their debuts against the Super Eagles.

The Ghana Premier League's best shot-stopper Ernest Sowah of Berekum Chelsea has returned to the squad after being omitted for this month's friendly.

The Black Stars will face Swaziland at the Accra Sports Stadium on 2 September before facing five-time world champions Brazil three days later at Craven Cottage, Fulham.
