Ghanaian defender Baba Abdul Rahman feels vindicated by his decision to remain with Greuther Furth despite their relegation from the German top flight at the end of last season.

The 19-year-old refused to leave the Cloverleaves despite interest from other top European clubs following the side’s relegation last term.

Rather, the left-back decided to remain at the Trolli Arena in Bundesliga II mainly due to the guarantee of regular first team action.

Greuther Furth have gone on to have a fabulous season where they are currently second and in the automatic qualification spot to the German top flight at the start of the second half of the season.

And Baba Rahman feels elated by his decision to stay and help the side win back promotion into Bundesliga.

“I am quite happy because we are currently second in the league but we still have 15 games to play so we’ll keep fighting,” he told GHANAsoccernet.com.

“For a young player I am happy to keep getting the chance to play and it is good I stayed because the team is playing well and looking good to return to Bundesliga.”

Greuther Furth are just four points behind leaders Koln as the commencement of the second round draws closer.

The Cloverleaves will resume their campaign on February 8 when they travel to face Kaiserslautern.
