Baba Rahman hits top form in Germany, scores twice as Furth demolish Nuremberg
Abdul Rahman Baba (L) of Fuerth celebrates with team-mates after scoring his team's third goal during the Bundesliga match between Greuther Fuerth and 1. FC Nuernberg at Trolli-Arena on August 11, 2014 in Fuerth, Germany.

Ghana defender Baba Abdul Rahman scored two goals and created another as his German side Greuther Furth crashed local rivals Nuremberg 5-1 in their Bundesliga II game on Monday night, GHANAsoccernet.com can reveal.

The 20-year-old, who is originally a left-back, was deployed in midfield as a left winger and the experiment has unveiled the hidden talent in the player as his opponents struggled to deal with his pace and trickery.

He opened the scoring in the game on eight minutes before being brought down by Alesandro for the penalty that was converted by Sukalo.

Baba wrapped up his heroics in the 57th minute with goal before two further strikes from his side condemned Nuremberg to the shocking defeat.

The Black Stars player has been tried by coach Frank Kramer in a new position where he plays on the left just behind the strikers which seems to be working to perfection.

The adventurous youngster benefited from a serious error by Nuremberg goalkeeper Raphael Schäfer to fire his side into the lead with just eight minutes played.

Shortly after the opening goal, Nuremberg defender Alesandro was tested by the Ghanaian star who had no option but to foul the youngster in the penalty area and the resulting spot kick was converted.

Furth extended their lead to 3-1 after the break, again Baba scored. This time he took advantage of a mistake by Pinola and scored his second goal. The goal gave Fürth new momentum and they gained control of the game which resulted in two further goals.

The Ghana international's performance will intensify talks that he could join a top-flight side before the transfer window closes at the end of the month.
