Ghana defender Baba Rahman is set for a long spell on the Chelsea bench after coach Jose Mourinho revealed he will keep faith in Branislav Ivanovic at right-back.

The Portuguese manager says he is critical of the Serbian defender but won't drop him in favour of the Ghana left-back.

The 31-year-old Ivonovic has come under some heavy criticism after his surprisingly poor start to the campaign.

A number of Blues fans have been calling for Mourinho to replace Ivanovic with Cesar Azpilicueta at right-back, with Baba Rahman coming in on the left.

But Mourinho admits he has intention to lose faith in Ivanovic, insisting he remains the best right-back at Stamford Bridge.

"That's something I speak about with Ivanovic," Mourinho said on the Serbian's form.

"Ivanovic likes to speak with me, and Ivanovic likes to speak with me about his mistakes.

"He's not crying, he's not a prima donna, and I'm critical with him.
