Ghana defender Baba Abdul Rahman could make his Chelsea debut in their Champions League match against Maccabi Tel Aviv on Wednesday after manager Jose Mourinho revealed he would be making some changes to his under-performing side.

The 21-year-old is yet to kick a ball for the Blues since making his £22m move from German club Augsburg in August.

Baba Rahman arrives as an expensive signing and was expected to start playing games for Chelsea from the onset especially with their leaking defence.

But the Ghana international has only since managed a place on the bench just once in their Premier League win over West Brom.

Jose Mourinho has now hinted he could play Baba Rahman and others who are not getting game time in his attempt to revamp the side for the visit of the Israeli club on Wednesday.

“I am going to make a couple of changes to try a different dynamic and give a chance to players who aren't playing,” the Portuguese manager said at his pre-match press conference.

Rahman is likely to start for Chelsea from his favourite left-back position with Cesar Apilicueta reverted to the opposing flank at the expense of the much-criticized Branislav Ivanovic.
