Ghana defender Daniel Opare returned to action on Friday night by playing the entire duration of Standard Liege’s 1-0 win at Lokeren in the Belgian Pro League.

Opare played in his favourite right-back position as the win away from home ensured Standard Liege remained top of the table with a ten-point lead.

Last Sunday, the versatile wing-back picked up a knock during a friendly against Ostende and was replaced after 36 minutes.

Opare has been in the news during this January transfer window and linked with stellar European clubs.

Italian giants AS Roma and French Ligue 1 duo Lille and Marseille are said to be hugely interested in his services.
