Harrison Afful played his first match for Esperance on his return from the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations in their 1-0 win over CA Bizertin on Wednesday.
The Ghana international rejoined the Blood and Gold after a botched move to UAE side Al Wahda.
Afful passed a medical but the Arabian Gulf League club had to drop the idea of signing him as they did not receive any communication from the Tunisian club.
The 28-year-old is playing in his eighth season for Esperance.
