Ghana defender Harrison Afful says he is looking forward to making full use of the opportunity given him by Columbus crew to play in the MLS.

The Ghana international surprised many after signing for Major league soccer side Columbus Crew.

Afful ended a glittering six year spell with Tunisian giants Esperance last month after refusing a contract extension.

Prior to joining Columbus Crew reports had linked the 29 year old with a move to Europe but Afful says he is looking forward to making use of chance to play in the ever growing MLS.

“What I heard was football.For me I want to enjoy the place I am here and that is all,” Afful said after signing the contract

“It’s not easy to get such an opportunity so I am looking forward to making the best from it, i am looking forward to playing in the MLS.”

“I just love the place and everybody has been nice to me since I got here.”

Afful is one of the experienced players in the Ghana setup with over 50 caps for the Black Stars.
