Ghana defender Jonathan Mensah believes the exploits of quartet – Jeff Schlupp, Christian Atsu and brothers Jordan and Andre Ayew in England will open the gateway for many Ghanaian players.

The four Ghana internationals are expected to delight the English League after concluding deals during the transfer window.

While Jeff Schlupp (Leicester City) and Christian Atsu (Bournemouth) are not new to the Premiership, brothers Andre and Jordan Ayew will be marking their debut for Swansea and Aston Villa respectively.

And their international teammate Jonathan Mensah is backing them to excel to open the doors for other players from the West African country.

“Jeff is doing well so definitely people will see what Ghanaians can do and we’ve proven it with the likes of Muntari, Essien, Asamoah Gyan, John Mensah, Paintsil and Boateng,” he told Accra-based Starr FM

We’re waiting for the best and I know my colleagues playing in England will open the gateway for other (Ghanaian) players.”
