John Pantsil wants to fight to save his marriage

Ghana defender John Pantsil is determined not to allow his marriage to collapse insisting he will fight to save his family.

Mrs Richlove Pantsil has filed for divorce at the an Accra High court  but the husband has refused to sign the divorce papers despite being served copies of the document,  Graphic Sports reported on Wednesday.

But the experienced Santos FC right back says he will resolve the differences between himself and the wife.

“I’ve told her [Richlove] that there’s no way I’ll end the marriage because our children are at stake and we would jeopardise their future if we separated," he told Accra-based Happy FM

“As for me John Paintsil I’m not ready to agree to a divorce; we’ll stay together until our children are old enough to be on their own. Whatever has gone wrong that she’s unhappy about, we’ll have to talk about it.

“Until I left for South Africa there was no serious problem between us.

The football star explained the genesis of his marital problems citing a newspaper publication which photographed him and a Ghanaian actress and musician Kisa Gbekle  as the primary cause.

“Everything was going on well until the newspaper publication after the Nations Cup. But we resolved it before I left for South Africa. Since then our marriage has been on and off, but it’s not the kind of case to lead to a divorce”, he contended.

“I told the so-called lawyer I was not ready to discuss any such thing. I’m not ready to leave her.”

“She once told me she had sold my pure water manufacturing machines and that a court had also ordered her to sell my white [Infinity Armada] car.”

Please blame the Ghana media for tearing apart many families. They wickedly add their own stories to someone's family issues. If footballers begin to sue the media houses, they will stop all these unnecessary interference.

Koo Tee you are a very wise person, can't this barrister talk this lady on John's behalf? why is this lady want to end up their marriage so much? hey lady there is nothing better out there for you. In fact JP have prove to every one that he is much matured in your relationship and what ever the case might be, can't you just forgive him? haven't you read the Lord's Prayer before? FORGIVE US OUR TRESPASSES AS WE FORGIVE THOSE WHO TRESPASS AGAINST US?. Please Lady think twice before taking any final decision GOOD LUCK.

well these footballers especially the unmarried ones should be wise and vigilant. they should marry women who are hardworking and independent. Any hardworking lady would not think of taking advantage of you but rather support and help you build a stable and better home. One clue, if your girl demands a lot and always asking you for money and other things, my boy, you should know what she is up to. a word to a wise...

My fellow beloved forumites there is always two sides to hear in a case. Im very sorry for what happened to nii odartey lamptey. But as for the rest i dont want to believe they married gold diggers. Most of these players are the cause of their own problems. Do you guys know how many of these players cheat on their wives? Most of these players are casanovas ang Giggolos(womanizers). They cant keep their organs in their trousers. I know or knew a lot of proffesional footballers(im not going to mention names)who were or are still married and were sleeping with their girlfriends and concubines or whatever you call it. Former ghana midfielder alex nyarko is still married to his swiss wife for almost 20 yrs and they are still living because he was always loyal to her. Razak pimpong is also happily married to his danish wife and he is still happily married. Let me tell you not all ladies are gold diggers as you claim, but most of these players are womanizers. Most of these players have themselve to blame. To question is would u like to stay with somebody who cheats on u on several times?
