World Cup defender Jonathan Mensah says his best is yet to come for the Black Stars despite putting in a good shift at the 2014 finals in Brazil.

The Evian TG defender is seen as a natural successor to former captain John Mensah after bursting onto the scene in 2009.

But there have been concerns about his slow progression and the centre-back says there is more from him for the Black Stars.

“We had a disappointing World Cup but that is not the end of the road,” he told

“We will bounce back strongly and on a personal note I have not gotten to where I want to get with the Black Stars.

“ I will continue to work hard to improve on a daily basis.”

Selfmade,i must agree with you and Seedolf, why should they run all day for just mere goal celebrarion.I hardly see John Boye or Jonathan Mensah do this stupid stuffs at their clubs. Some of us watch their matches every week, like you said they lack that composure and i will also say it boils down to discipline. They don't play according specific intructions from the bench as compared to when they are at their individual clubs.I think Jonathan has still not matured enough,he is still the same Jonathan at the U20 tournament in Egypt. He still makes those silly little errors, just check our game against the US,how we conceded tthat second goal.It started from him, trying to shepherd the ball to over which ended up hitting his legs when he could have kick the ball to throw or...As for John Boye,he is only good at dancing azonto/aquaida or kissing dollars,he has never learnt anything though he plys his trade in europe,he is the same Boye at Hearts Of Lions!!

U know why he flop in the national team? He lacks composure! When we played against Germany, SEEDORF was at pains as to why BOYE AND MENSAH should run all the way to joined in the goal scoring celebrations and he said that, he wasn't surprised that Germany equalized because our central defenders lacks composure! Prior to the WC,I said this, that 2 central defenders should stay back when we score to maintain their shape and composure and they didn't! Foreign coaches are watching these guys and should they lost their form, it ll be hard for clubs to hire them because they knew everything about them! SEEDORF said this on BBC! He said he don't understand why pivotal defenders LL run half way to celebrate when there is a job to be done? Watch the replays again of ghana-germany matches and all of our matches and u ll see boye and jonathan in most our AZONTO celebrations which is energy sapping! A word to the wise is ...
