Ghana defender Jonathan Mensah insists his rich CV as a player makes him a very attractive transfer target for clubs this summer regardless of his four-month ban.

The 24-year-old is on the lookout for a new club following the expiration of his four-year contract with relegated French club Evian TG.

Mensah however copped a four-month ban from CAS for infringing transfer rules in his move to Evian back in 2011.

The Ghana international joined the Roses as a free agent but CAS ruled he was still under contract with Udinese at the time.

There are fears the hefty punishment placed on the touring defender could scupper his transfer moves elsewhere this summer.

But the former AshantiGold and Free State Stars player says his rich professional career with both club and country gives his suitors a solid enough reason to sign him despite the ban.

"I don't think so [about the ban affecting his transfer move this summer] because I have been to two World Cups and four African Cups so teams know what Jonathan Mensah can do," he told Metro TV.

"I don't think this situation will hamper any move because like I said teams know what I can do."

Mensah is currently the most experienced defender in the Black Stars team.

He played for Ghana at the 2010 and 2014 World Cups in South Africa and Brazil respectively and also featured for the Black Stars at the 2010, 2012, 2013 and 2015 Africa Cup of Nations.

Mensah is regarded as the successor to former Ghana captain John Mensah due to his immense physique and ability to organize and his impeccable reading of the game.
