Ghana defender Jonathan Mensah insists the four-month ban placed on him by the court of Court of Arbitration for Sports does not bother him.

The 24-year-old was handed the ban for breaking transfer rules in his move to Evian TG back in 2011.

Mensah joined the French club as a free agent but CAS ruled he was still under contract at Udinese at the time of his move to Evian.

A ban was thus slapped on the Ghana defender with Evian also being handed a hefty fine for breaking the transfer rules.

The punishment threatens Mensah’s prospective moves to a different club following the demotion of Evian from Ligue 1.

But the touring defender insists he is not worried by the situation – choosing to draw inspiration from Uruguay star Luis Suarez who had to deal with a similar ban after the 2014 World Cup.

"It [the ban] hasn't [affected me] because I am still me," Mensah told Metro TV.

"It happened to Luis Suarez - we all know what happened at the World Cup.

"I know I will come out from it.

"This is football and I just have to deal with it."
