Ghana have been handed a huge boost ahead of the 2018 World Cup qualifier against Egypt with news defender Phil Ofosu-Ayeh will begin training this week.

The 25-year-old, who plays for Bundesliga II outfit Eintracht Braunschweig, has recovered from a hamstring injury he picked up few weeks ago.

The hugely talented right-back has undergone rehabilitation and expected to start group training this week.

The defender, born to a German mother and a Ghanaian father, missed the side's win over Greuther Fürth and will again sit out of the clash against Dresden on Friday.

But Braunschweig coach Torsten Lieberknecht has revealed the Ghanaian will be back in training this week.

"For this game, it is not an issue," Lieberknecht says about the defender who suffered the hamstring injury few weeks ago.

"He will start training this week."

Braunschweig are top of the Bundesliga II table with 25 points from 10 games.
