Ghana defender Rashid Sumaila has described the prospect of winning the league title in just his first season at Mamelodi Sundowns as the ‘greatest feeling’ in his career.

The Brazilians are four points clear at the top of the South African top flight with just two games remaining.

This means Pitso Mosimane’s side could only need just a point in their remaining two games against SuperSport and Maritzburg United to seal their 6th PSL title in their 44-year history.

Sumaila who only joined the side at the beginning of the campaign after winning the Ghana league in a season-long loan spell at Asante Kotoko is brimming with excitement ahead of what appears to be an inevitable coronation for Sundowns.

“It is the greatest feeling in my football career,” he told GHANAsoccernet.com.

“Myself and my teammates just can’t wait to get our hands on the title.

“I would however thank Allah for this miracle because I won the league in my first season at Kotoko and now I am going to be a champion again in the South African league in my first season at Sundowns.”

A home win over SuperSport United on the league’s resumption on Tuesday will wrap up the title for Sundowns even before the final round of matches are played.

It will be their first top flight triumph in seven years.
