Rashid Sumaila played his final game for Al Qadsia in their 1-0 win over Al Wihdat in the AFC Cup on Tuesday.

The Ghana defender helped the side qualify to the quarter finals of the second tier club competition in Asia at the end of his loan stint.

Sumaila will now have to return to Mamelodi Sundowns pending the final determination of his future.

Al Qadsia have tabled a permanent offer for the 21-year-old who impressed in his six-month loan spell – during which period he helped the side win the Emir Cup.

But Mamelodi Sundowns have to agree to a transfer fee before allowing the Ghana defender to sign a permanent deal with the Kuwaiti club.

Al Qadsia will be hoping to have secured Sumaila by the time the AFC Cup resumes in August.
