Ghana defender Rashid Sumaila guided Kuwaiti giants Al Qadsia to a splendid 2-0 home win over leaders Al Salmiya to scoop the top spot last night.
Sumaila, 22, was the chief security officer at the back for the Kuwaiti giants ensuring the net is always safe compelling the leaders to go home with a defeat.
The former Asante Kotoko was rested in their mid-week 4-0 thrashing of Al Fahaheel ahead of the top of the table clash.
The win over Salmiya means Al Qadsia are now league leaders in Kuwait after six matches.
The former Sundowns defender’s contribution to the leaders has seen them represent the country in the Asian Champions League showing glimpses of reaching the final.
Sumaila was a member of the Black Stars squad that represented Ghana at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil and is currently having an excellent season in Kuwait.
