Ghana defender Rashid Sumaila says he is making a deliberate effort to add goal scoring to his game.Ã
The 22-year-old scored his second goal in five game for Al Qadsia in their 3-0 win over Al Sulaibikhat in a Kuwaiti top flight match played on Saturday.
Sumailaââ¬â¢s tally could have been three by now having seen his goal-bound header cleared off the line in Al Qadsiaââ¬â¢s AFC Cup win over Ahal.
The on-loan Mamelodi Sundowns player says he has been working on adding value to himself as a defender by making significant contributions in attack.
ââ¬ÅI am a defender but the game of football has changed a lot nowadays in the sense that it is not enough being just a defender,â⬠he told GHANAsoccernet.com.
ââ¬ÅThe best defenders in the world now also score goals to help their team and that is what I want to do.
ââ¬ÅI have been practicing goal scoring at training especially with set pieces and I think it is the reason I have score two goals since I came here [Al Qadsia].
ââ¬ÅI want to add goal scoring to my game.ââ¬
