Ghana defender Rashid Sumaila helped Mamelodi Sundowns exact revenge on Polokwane City with a 1-0 win on Saturday.
The 21-year-old was in full time action for the Brazilians as they secured the vital win to keep their title hopes alive in the South African top flight.
Sumaila’s impressive performance helped Pitso Mosimane’s team keep a clean sheet against the side they painfully lost to in the first half of the season.
The Black Stars defender’s return to good form has coincided with a run of positive results for Sundowns who went through a stale period while the Ghanaian was injured.
Sundowns are now just six points behind leaders Kaizer Chiefs with nine games left.
