Ghana World Cup defender Rashid Sumaila completed his first training session with Asante Kotoko on Wednesday morning.

He has sealed his season-long loan deal from South African Premier League side Mamelodi Sundowns.

The centre back is making a return to the Ghana Premier League after stalled negotiations denied him a dream move abroad.

Sumaila enjoyed massive success last season with Sundowns totaling 22 games as the Brazilians wrapped up their first Premier Soccer League title in almost a decade.

He was not registered for the first half of the season and has since rejoined Kotoko in order to remain active.
