Ghana defender Samuel Inkoom expects an improved performance of striker Asamoah Gyan at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

The Al Ain ace has sustained an impressive output for both club and country in recent times.

Gyan is now just a goal away from equalling the record of all-time leading scorer for the Black Stars jointly held by Edward Acquah and Kwesi Owusu who are on 40 goals apiece.

Inkoom who plays his club football in Greece for Platanias is backing his national team captain to impress again at the world stage in Brazil.

“Asamoah Gyan has always delivered for the Black Stars and I know he will do same in Brazil,” the Platanias defender told 90 Minutes.

“He was good in Germany, better in South Africa and I believe he will be fantastic in Brazil too.”

Gyan will be leading the Black Stars out in Brazil for his third successive appearance at the finals.

The former Sunderland hitman has scored at least a goal in all his appearances at the finals since making his debut in Hermany 2006.
