Ghana defender Seth Owusu is eyeing a return to the Black Stars following an explosive season at Angolan side Sagrada Esperança.

Owusu, 25, enjoyed a fabulous debut season with the ambitious Angolan side since joining as a free agent.

The Medeama star was touted as one of the next big thing after being named in the Black Stars squad for the Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Sudan in 2010.

However, he failed to shine as expected when he made the big move to giants Hearts of Oak in 2012.

The former Ghana Under-17 and 20 defender traveled to South Africa where he impressed heavily at Golden Arrows before being snapped up Sagrada Esperança.

The in-form left back emerged the most-talked about foreign player in the rich Angolan league where he hogged the headlines for months.

The hugely talented defender wants to build on his improved form to stage a return to the team.

‘The season was fabulous for me and I’m looking forward to the future with high hopes,’ he said told Ghana television’s Stage Africa Show

‘Initially it wasn’t easy because of the language barrier but I settled in quickly and grateful to the club for the quick adaptation.

‘I’m modest and working hard and so hopefully when I’m noticed, I will be ready to return to the national team.

‘I am not in a hurry at all. I’m very young and have a lot of footballing years ahead of me. I can only pray for an injury-free season and then we see how it goes.’

A good reader of the game Owusu is a great outlet in an attacking sense – all direct running and pace.

He possesses a mixture of pace and dribbling prowess and commands a fabulous aerial ability.
