Ghana duo aid Fiorentina to win Italian youth trophy

Ghana teenagers Maxwell Boadu Acosty and Salifu Amidu were part of the Fiorentina set-up which beat Roma 3-1 to win the Italian Primavera Cup on Wednesday night at Olimpico.

The duo played full throttle and pushed very hard for a first team call-up next season at the Stadio Artemio Franchi.

Five minutes in and Fiorentina's Seferovic made it into the box but was stopped in his run.

The Viola pressed high up the pitch trying to counterattack quickly.

On 15 minutes a good right footed effort by Carpari was stopped; and again some excellent defence by Bagnai two minutes later kept the game all square.

On 27 minutes Sefaerovic found the net from a Carraro cross. On 39 minutes a great header by Carraro required Pigliacelli to perform a miracle to keep his side in it.

The second half started with Camporese's own-goal, which Seculin could do nothing to prevent.

Piccini then produced a series of great efforts until he eventually beat Pigliacelli on 60 minutes.

A great exchenge between Masi and Acosty was stopped well by Pigliacelli.
