The Ghana FA have begun the process to make striker Said Ahmed Said eligible to play for Ghana having already featured for the Italian national youth team.

The 22-year-old was penciled down for a call up into the Ghana U23 team for the 2016 Olympic Games qualifiers.

An invitation was indeed sent to the Genoa youngster to join the Black Meteors but the striker needs to be cleared first.

The former Inter Milan youngster says he is eager to play for Ghana.

“I was happy when the invitation came,” he told Metro FM.

“But I have played for the Italian U19 team so there is a process I must go through first.

“I also have an Italian passport and that is why I was able to play for Italy but I really want to play for Ghana.”
