Ghana FA boss hails Black Stars unity ahead of AFCON

Ghana Football Association president Kwesi Nyantakyi has hailed the team's spirit and unity ahead of the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations in South Africa.

Nyantakyi, who doubles as the chairman of the Black Stars management committee, made these comment just before the team's training camp in Abu Dhabi.

The Black Stars were impressive in the two tune-up matches played at their camping base in Abu Dhabi.

Kwesi Appiah's side beat Egypt 3-0 last Thursday and rallied from two goals down to beat fellow contestant Tunisia 4-2 on Sunday.

Nyantakyi says the players have shown the right attitude for the Nations Cup.

"I saw unity of the highest order, I saw team spirit, discipline and commitment, dedication and patriotism," the CAF Executive Committee member said.

''It appears to me that there is a general resolve that, this is our time to win this trophy and we must do everything to annex this trophy and that means putting all differences aside, working towards a common objective and sacrificing and trying to forgo certain pleasures of life in order to contribute towards this objective.

''Discipline is very paramount in everything that we do.

"On the field of play, you see that discipline being extended there. Players are asked to play certain roles and you see them religiously adhering to those instructions.

" I think it's wonderful. They bonded very well. I think they are poised and we are very happy with that."

Ghana will arrive in Port Elizabeth on Thursday-three days before engaging DR Congo in their opener.
