Kwesi Nyantakyi’s seat as a member of the powerful CAF Executive Committee will be up for grabs next year when the continental football governing body holds its 37th Annual General Meeting.

The Ghana FA boss’ first term as the representative for Zonal Union West B expires in 2015 and must put himself up for re-election at the General Meeting slated to take place on April 7 in Cairo.

Nyantakyi is therefore expected to defend his seat at the polls at CAF in Cairo before returning to Ghana to do same with his Ghana FA Presidency.

The intelligent lawyer must however be first nominated by the Ghana FA before the January 6, 2015 deadline when nominations are closed.

CAF General Secretary Hicham El Amrani in a circular to the 54-member associations announced and explained modalities for the opening of nominations for next year's elections onto the Executive Committee.

"According to the provisions of articles 18 para. 5 and 6 of CAF Statutes, the names of the candidates must be submitted by their National Association and sent to the CAF Secretariat in Cairo either by registered mail, or by express courier, and the deadline for the receipt of candidatures by CAF General Secretariat in Cairo is January 6th 2015," the circular sent on Saturday read.

"The postal stamp of Cairo Post office will be taken as evidence for the candidatures sent."

Nominations sent by hand, telegram, or by fax shall however not be accepted.

Nyantakyi was first elected to the powerful CAF Executive Committee in 2011 after beating Benin's Anjorin Mouscharaf by a landslide victory at the polls held in Sudan.

The Zonal Union West B comprises Benin, Burkina Faso, Cote d' Ivoire, Ghana, Niger, Nigeria and Togo.

The other seats up for grabs at next year's CAF polls include Zonal Unions North, West A, Central, Central-East and South.

Two other seats on the CAF Executive Committee held by Jacques Anouma and Mohammed Raouraoua are also up for grabs.

GSN,you are as corrupt as Nyantakyie, that is you are describing him as a clever lawyer.Clever indeed, why is he not practicing in the courts of law.The cheap and corrupt lawyer rather chose the avenue to extort and loot from GFA Even if his cohorts at GFA nominate him,I will pray for him to lose.

We pray for nyantakyie's reelection. The last Ghanaian who got this far in caf was Sam okyere. Earlier ohene gyan and nana fredua mensah served on the caf executive body. If nyantakyie's reelected it will help him to challenge for the presidency of caf in future. All well meaning Ghanaian s must support him
