Ghana FA boss wants resounding support for the Black Stars

By Ameenu Shardow

Ghana FA boss Kwasi Nyantakyi has rallied support for the Black Stars as they move into the final stages of preparations towards the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations.

The team left Accra on Friday for their pre-tournament camp Abu Dhabi where the Black Stars will play Egypt and Tunisia in warm up games.

The Ghana team aims at ending a 31-year wait for the African title by the time the competition kicks off on January 19 in South Africa.

The GFA President has thus appealed for the seizure of all negative comments about the team’s title prospects and says it should be rather channeled into offering a massive support for the Black Stars.

“I urge Ghanaians to pray and support the team, people should refrain from passing negative comments about the team now that we are in the final stages of preparations,” he told GHANAsoccernet.com moments before boarding the plane to Abu Dhabi.

“No more insults, rather, the public should offer their support to ensure that the Black Stars get the required results in South Africa.”

Ghana is drawn in Group B which will be based in Port Elizabeth alongside Mali, Niger and DR Congo.
