Ghana FA chief Kwesi Nyantakyi hails Dreams FC for accepting demotion

Ghana FA president Kwesi Nyantakyi has hailed the decision of Dreams FC for accepting their demotion to the country's second-tier.

Dreams were dealt the sucker punch after being found guilty of fielding an unqualified player in the 2014/15 Division One League season.

The Appeals Committee found them liable and demoted them to the second-tier league.

However, in a massive show of sportsmanship, the club has decided to accept the decision to pave way for the start of the new season.

“I congratulate Dreams FC for the step they took in the spirit of sportsmanship. They could have prolonged this case, though some will argue in their favour and others not, but they decided in the interest of Ghana football not to, which I must say it's very commendable.”

It's unclear when the new season will kick into full gear.
