Ghana FA denies Black Stars friendly against Nigeria scheduled for March
Ghana are unlikely to play Nigeria in a friendly in March

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has denied reports in a section of the media that the Black Stars will play a friendly with their Nigerian counterparts in March this year.

Widespread reports in Accra have it that the Black Stars will play the Super Eagles in a friendly in March.

However, the two countries will be engaged in two 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers in March which makes the friendly impossible.

GFA spokesperson, Sannie Daara, told Accra-based Atinka FM that, “The Black Stars have matches to play in March, but I am not aware of any friendly match against Nigeria.”

He said: “We have not spoken to Nigeria for any friendly match and I don’t know of any friendly match against any opposition in June.”

Ghana will take on Mozambique in the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying double-header in March, while Nigeria will face Egypt over two legs.
