GFA earns Fifa praise over Goal project

The Ghana Football Association has been praised by Fifa for its prudent management of the Goal project fund.

In 2003, the Ghana FA and Fifa signed a US$ 800,000 deal for the construction of the Ghanaman Soccer School of Excellence in Prampram.

Already a hostel block complex made up of three buildings planned staggered bays and two football fields have been constructed.

Sampon Kablan, Development Officer of Fifa Goal Project in Charge of West Africa, is impressed with the level of work done at the site.

The facet of the project has seen Ghana become the first African country to hold a Fifa licence B course for coaches in country at the Ghanaman Soccer School of Excellence.

About 35 African countries affiliated to Fifa have benefited from the Fund although some are yet to complete their projects.

Fifa Goal project is aimed at bridging the gap between the developed and advanced European countries and the under developed nations in Africa, Asia and South America to bring parity.
