Ghana FA forms Public Interest Committee

The Executive Committee of the Ghana Football Association has constituted a five-man Public Interest Committee which includes football legend Abedi Pele.

The PIC will be headed by Aloysius Denkabe, a member of the Executive Committee, and also chairs the Referees Appointment Committee.

Other members include legal luminaries Ernest Thompson of Hearts of Oak and Tadius Sory and Oteng Arthur.

Their functions as stipulated in Article 70 of the FA's Statutes include the following:

1. To liaise with the Ministry responsible for Sports in terms of provision of the necessary facilities required for building the national football teams.

2. To liaise with the Ministry responsible for Sports in the provision of funds by the Government for purposes of building the National football teams.

3. In accordance with directives of the Executive Committee and the Ministry, formulate policies, which are necessary for building strong National teams.

4. Any other functions as ascribed by the Executive Committee with respect to the Protocol on GFA/Government relations.
