Ghana FA insists coach Avram Grant in 'full charge' of Black Stars
Avram Grant is still in charge of the Black Stars

Ghana FA has rubbished claims that Ibrahim Tanko is on the verge of being appointed as the Black Stars coach insisting Avram Grant 'is in full charge' of the national team.

Reports had claimed that the Ex-Cameroon assistant coach Tanko will be named as Avram Grant's successor with others claiming that the Israeli is unhappy.

GHANAsoccernet.com sources also claimed that the 38-year-old Tanko has held informal discussions with the country's sports ministry to take over from the Israeli when his contract runs out in February.

However the GFA has moved to play down the report claiming that Grant is still in charge of the squad.

"The GFA wishes to assure Ghanaians that coach Avram Grant is in full charge of the Black Stars and has not expressed any desire of leaving his post," Ghana FA said in a statement.

Grant's contract runs out in February next year at the end of the Africa Cup of Nations.
